Rimini

In
the 30's the first beach bars and facilities were officially opened,
this marked the beginning of the seaside tourism, to be followed
50 years later by the Kursaal and the most famous Grand Hotel
in Italy which is closely linked to the recollection and nostalgia
of Fellini.
Thus was the Ostend of Italy destined
to develop, following the tourist boom in the '60s and '70s into
the European holiday capital, thanks to the quantity and quality
of the tourist facilities.
In the evenings the town becomes
a great open air stage: performances, night life, discotheques,
bars, ice- cream parlours, disco pubs and a wide variety of night
life venues. There are countless cultural, sporting, recreational,
amusement and fitness proposals to satisfy even the most demanding
of visitors.
The city is a major trade- fair,
conference centre and every year hosts events of international
interest such as exhibitions, large sporting events and round
tables of outstanding significance.
For many years Rimini and the Adriatic
Riviera has been a favourite destination for sporting holidays.
Rimin itself has had a growth of several international sports
events each year, together with trade fairs and other specialised
occasions that focus on sport and activity holidays. The success
of this project can be attributed with the chance to combine holidays
and sport, but also by amateur clubs, associations and sports
groups who choose the Adriatic Riviera for their tournaments and
sporting events. |
